China has developed a unique circular rail crane with a lifting capacity of 14,000 metric tons, making it the undisputed record-holder in its category. According to the Global Times, this achievement represents a significant technological breakthrough in the field of lifting equipment, which is designed for various engineering tasks, such as the construction of nuclear power plants, offshore platforms, and large-scale wind energy projects.
The crane project was the result of a collaboration between the Chinese company XCMG and Sinopec Heavy Lifting & Transportation Co. The collaboration began in 2015, and ten years later, in October 2025, they signed a contract to build this innovative machine.
Often referred to as the “jewel” of the industry, the crane is distinguished by its ability to synchronize the operation of more than 100 slewing motors with high precision. This increases operational efficiency by 25%, while key performance indicators meet global standards.
The crane’s design incorporates innovations in the control of large-scale systems and high-precision synchronized control of various mechanisms. The crane’s versatile design allows it to be used in a wide variety of conditions, from small to large working radii, making it indispensable for complex construction projects, particularly in the chemical and nuclear industries.
The use of this new crane offers particular advantages at nuclear facilities. Thanks to its increased lifting capacity and operating radius, it can cover larger areas in a single operation without frequent repositioning, which significantly speeds up the construction process.
Currently, China is seeing a growing demand for such large lifting equipment, driven by the rapid development of the nuclear power industry. Analysts are confident that the production of this equipment will help ensure that construction deadlines are met and safety is maintained on national projects.
In addition, the Chinese narrow-body COMAC C919 aircraft recently began operating its first international flights. It flew from Beijing to Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia, and will operate regular service on this route. However, there are some doubts about the aircraft’s reliability. There have been reports of dissatisfaction from the carrier, China Southern Airlines, due to problems with the fasteners on the fire alarm system and the flap panels.
For anyone following developments in industrial construction and aviation, this information provides valuable insights into China’s technological achievements. Source: АнтиКредит.
