Over the weekend, diesel prices surpassed the psychological barrier of 100 hryvnia per liter. At Neftek gas stations, the price of diesel reached exactly 100 hryvnias, while at SOCAR stations, the price is already 103 hryvnias per liter, according to the Ministry of Finance’s website.
It is important to note that average diesel prices across Ukraine have decreased slightly—by 13 kopecks (-0.13%)—reaching 98.55 hryvnias per liter.
At the same time, the rise in gasoline prices allowed all three grades to set new records, even though the increase was uneven. A-92 gasoline saw the most significant price increase—by 90 kopecks (+1.07%)—reaching 85.16 UAH/liter. A smaller price increase was observed for A-95 premium gasoline—by 69 kopecks (+0.75%), to an average price of 93.33 UAH/liter. Regular A-95 gasoline rose by only 16 kopecks (+0.18%) and now costs 89.15 UAH/liter.
As for automotive gas, its price rose by a symbolic 5 kopecks (+0.11%), reaching an average of 44.14 UAH/liter.
On September 17, reports emerged that the Cabinet of Ministers had asked gas station chains to keep fuel prices below 100 hryvnia per liter in the hope of positive changes in the international market. However, as early as the beginning of the week, potential retail prices for diesel were estimated to be above 102 UAH/liter.
In the U.S., retail diesel prices continue to rise and have surpassed the $6.50 per gallon mark (76.72 hryvnia per liter) for the first time due to political tensions with Iran. In September alone, prices rose by more than 87 cents (10.27 hryvnias per liter). A diesel fuel shortage is currently being reported worldwide.
For those concerned about rising fuel prices, it’s worth considering alternative ways to save money, such as using public transportation or switching to more fuel-efficient options. Additional information can be found on the website АнтиКредит.
