Starting January 1, financial assistance programs were automatically extended for some recipients of government subsidies. However, to continue receiving income-based benefits, recipients must resubmit the appropriate applications to social welfare agencies, local government offices, or the Center for Administrative Services (CNA). This also applies to single mothers and low-income families registered as such.
Currently, assistance for low-income families is provided only to families permanently residing in Ukraine. Another important condition for receiving payments is that their average monthly total income—due to valid reasons or circumstances beyond their control—is below the subsistence minimum for a family.
If the application is approved, the applicant is granted a state subsidy for a period of six months. If the applicant needs to extend the assistance, they must resubmit a package of relevant documents to the government agencies. When applying to social welfare agencies or the Center for Administrative Services (CNA), the following documents must be provided:
- Applications for state social assistance for low-income families.
- Declarations of income and financial status for individuals applying for all types of social assistance.
- Certificates in the prescribed form confirming the individual’s direct participation in the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO), in activities to ensure national security and defense, and in repelling and deterring Russia’s armed aggression in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions (if applicable).
- Income statements when the income declaration includes information not found in government agency records.
