Starting January 1, 2023, certain categories of recipients of state social assistance will have to re-register in order to continue receiving payments. According to Vitaliy Koval, head of the Rivne Regional State Administration, this is regulated by Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 1320 dated November 15, 2022.
According to the Cabinet of Ministers’ decision, automatic renewal of social assistance next year is guaranteed only to residents of occupied territories or regions of the country where hostilities continue. Residents of other regions will need to apply to social protection agencies, Administrative Service Centers (TSNAPs), or authorized representatives of their communities to request an extension of their benefits. The Cabinet of Ministers’ resolution applies to the following types of assistance:
- state social assistance for low-income families;
- financial assistance for children of single mothers;
- assistance for children under guardianship;
- temporary state payments to minors whose parents evade child support payments, are unable to support the child, or whose place of residence is unknown;
- temporary social assistance for unemployed citizens who have reached the general retirement age but do not receive a pension;
- state social assistance for individuals with disabilities since childhood and for children with disabilities;
- state social assistance for individuals who are not eligible for a pension and for individuals with disabilities;
