Ukrainian startups managed to attract significant venture capital investments for their projects in 2021. A total of $779.6 million was raised across 216 deals. It is worth noting that prior to this, $2.8 billion had been raised over 8 years, so the $780 million raised in 2021 represents a huge leap forward and a significant boost to the Ukrainian ecosystem.

Nearly half of the deals were facilitated by USF—the Ukrainian Startup Fund. At the same time, the venture capital market welcomed several major players. Among them, it is important to highlight GEEK Ventures, SID Venture Partners, ZAS Ventures, ANCHOR, and PAWA. These companies not only provide financial support to Ukrainian startups but also offer them their expertise and experience. Furthermore, it’s worth noting that in 2021, R&D centers, engineering hubs, and representative offices of various international companies were opened in Ukraine.
