The government has reported on the progress of the “єРобота” grant program. According to Economy Minister Yulia Sviridenko, the popularity of this business support project, launched in 2021, continues to grow. Under the program’s terms, participants can receive non-repayable government assistance to start or expand their businesses. Last year, more than 2,500 Ukrainian enterprises received funding totaling 1.56 billion hryvnia.
Sviridenko noted that on January 17, the Cabinet of Ministers approved a number of changes to the “єРобота” project. The procedure for awarding microgrants and grants for the development of horticulture and greenhouse farming has been revised. The Minister of Economy believes this will help improve the situation in the business sector. Businesses will also be able to continue creating new jobs (which is one of the conditions for receiving financial support).
Under the adopted changes:
- the main source of state grant funding will be the Compulsory Social Insurance Fund for Unemployment;
- program participants whose applications were approved in 2022 will receive funds from the general state budget for 2023 or from the Compulsory Social Insurance Fund;
- recipients of grants for gardens or greenhouses, for which decisions were made in 2022, will be given the option to choose how they receive the grant (in full as a single payment or in installments).
